Boat House is a nautical-themed, habitable sculpture set on the banks of White Rock Lake at the Bath House Cultural Center in Dallas, TX. Boat House is an interactive monument to the site's marine history, with eroded concrete columns that speak to the art deco style of the nearby historic Bath House as well as to iconic public artworks throughout the Cultural Center grounds. The dynamic roof is rendered in board-formed concrete recalling the shape of a sailboat hull. Boat House is a shady respite at the shore, and its stagelike form opens out to the water, creating a natural band shell that can be used for music or other performances.
