Austin Art in Public Places Competition, 1st Alternate Design Winner. Published in the Journal of Architectural Education, Media/Medium issue, Nov. 2004. Images of east and west Texas horizons beyond the underpass walls are installed in 90-foot long light boxes mounted on underpass walls. Powered by solar panels installed above on the bridge, the installation bathes the dark underpass in blue and orange tinted light.
